>>Cardinals Visit White House

(Washington, DC) -- The St. Louis Cardinals were in the nation's capital today. The team visited with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House in honor of their 2011 World Series championship. It was the team's second trip in five years after also winning the World Series in 2006. The Cardinals presented the Obamas with customized jerseys and a World Series bat. Former Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols [[ POO-holes ]] and retired manager Tony La Russa were not present. Pujols signed a 10-year free-agent contract with the Angels in December. Before going to the White House, the Cardinals visited wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Medical Center.
